Andrea Louise Bird, 47, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 after a hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was born July 3, 1978 in Idaho Falls, ID, to R. Lynn Montague and Marcia Apgood Montague. Later her family moved to the Pacific Northwest where she spent the majority of her time in Oregon and Washington. Andrea and her younger sister Alicia enjoyed an amazing childhood together. Andrea was an avid ballet dancer for over ten years. As a teenager she enjoyed being with friends, going to concerts and skiing in the mountains. She graduated in 1996 from Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington and shortly after attended the University of Washington.
In 1999, she started to date Roger Duane Bird. They fell in love and were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 17, 2000 at 1:40pm. Andrea and Roger were blessed with 4 children, Ethan Ammon Bird, Hunter Nephi Bird, Alexis Liberty Bird and Natalie Grace Bird. Her family was the true joy of her life. She was an amazing wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. If she wasn’t with her kids, she was talking to them on the phone every chance she could.
She enjoyed trips with the family including the Oregon Coast, California, quick day trips exploring Seattle, and the beautiful southern Utah landscape. She had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious food which she would often share with friends, neighbors, guests and family. She also enjoyed exploring new restaurants with Roger, always eager to experience unique flavors from around the world. She enjoyed entertaining guests and spending quality time with those she loved — which was everyone. She was a great influence to those around her. She selflessly served others and genuinely cared about everyone she met.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She lovingly served in the Relief Society, Young Women's, Primary and Sunday School. She also served in the temple as a temple worker and grew to cherish her time there. She had a deep abiding testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His restored church.
She is survived by her husband Roger (Washington, UT), her children Ethan (San Diego, CA), Hunter (Provo, UT), Alexis (Washington, UT), Natalie (Washington, UT), her sister Alicia L. Johnson (Jacob), and her father R. Lynn Montague. She was preceded in death by her mother Marica Montague. She was loved and will be missed by all of her inlaws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Words are inadequate to describe how much we will miss her.
Funeral Services will be held on September 20th at 11am at the Washington East Stake center, 1835 S Washington Fields Rd. Washington, UT 84780. Viewing will be from 9-10:30am before the funeral. Interment will take place in the Washington City Cemetery.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary, 1037 East 700 South St. George, Utah, (435)674-5000.
