Arlene Shamo Davis, age 71, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 31, 2026. She passed away peacefully at her home in Washington City, Utah, surrounded by her family and dearest friends. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Arlene's journey on this earth came to a peaceful close.

Arlene was born on March 14, 1955, in Cedar City, Utah, to Alverion H. Shamo and Reva Hatch Shamo. She was truly the apple of her parents' eye. She was raised in Cedar City and graduated from Cedar High School in 1973.

Arlene's lifelong friends often described her as a protector. Growing up, she was known for standing up for others and was never afraid to defend those who needed support. She married at the age of 17 and became a loving mother at age 22.

In her younger years, Arlene worked at Top Spot, Hermie's, and Coleman.Throughout her adult life, she was employed by the Daily Spectrum, PC Arts & Crafts, and Dixie Regional Medical Center in the Physical Therapy Records Department.

Anyone who knew Arlene knew she was incredibly talented with crafts. She loved sharing her talents and helping others learn. Her home was often filled with friends and family seeking guidance, inspiration, and assistance with their creative projects. Arlene was service-oriented and always looked for ways to help others.

Arlene was a devoted and loving mother to her three sons, Aaron, Kadin, and Kyle. She worked tirelessly to provide them with love, support, and encouragement throughout their lives. Her compassion extended far beyond her own family. Over a period of 16 years, Arlene opened her home to more than 80 foster boys. Many of them remained in contact with her throughout the years and often expressed their gratitude for the profound impact she had on their lives.

Some of Arlene's favorite pastimes included taking long drives with a fountain drink in hand, creating crafts, ordering items she probably didn't need from Amazon, and spending hours reminiscing and sharing stories with family and friends.

Arlene is survived by her sons, Aaron (Kasey), Kadin, and Kyle; her sister, Beverly Bulloch; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alverion and Reva Shamo, and her beloved grandson, Karson.Arlene's kindness, generosity, creativity, and unwavering love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
