Barbara Ann (Lee) Higgins, age 90, passed away May 12, 2015, in Roscoe, Illinois, at the home of her granddaughter, Jen Yeager Rosen, where her family and Heartland Hospice cared for her.  Before her brief stay in Illinois, she was a long time resident of Toquerville, Utah, where she was cared for by family and Southern Utah Hospice and Home Care. The family wishes to thank the many caregivers who so lovingly tended to her. She was born May 5, 1925, in Janesville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles Phelps Lee and Margretha Levzow Lee. Her family lived in Neenah, Wisconsin when she was a young child. They then moved to Rockford, Illinois, where she graduated from Rockford West High School. Eventually, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she worked at the county recorder’s office.  There she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Warren Higgins.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Barbara has been a lifelong family historian, researching and submitting thousands of names for ordinance work.  She and Bill served a mission at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and then served as directors of the Hurricane Family History Center for several years. She is survived by her children: Pamela Yeager, Toquerville; Michael Crosby and Shawn Crosby, St. George; and Sue (Jim) Jacobs, Bayfield, CO; her step-children Bill (Joan) Higgins and Nadine Cadman, both of Anchorage, Alaska; Carol Ablowaluk, Teller, Alaska; and Shirley (Russ) Larson, Moreno Valley, California.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved Eternal Companion, Bill, her parents, and her brother, Alan Lee, as well as step-children Juanita Belk, and James Higgins, grandson, Aaron Bodine and great-grandson, Samuel Behrmann. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 20, at 11:00 am, at the Toquerville LDS Chapel.  Friends may call Tuesday, May 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, or Wednesday, May 20, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, at the Toquerville Chapel. Interment will take place in the Toquerville Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Heideman Hughes Mortuary, 1037 East 700 South, St. George, Utah, (435) 674-5000.
