Bounhieng Ouk, a respected mother.
A cherished grandmother and a pillar of her family passed away peacefully, surrounded by by the ones who love and cherish her. Her life was defined by resilience, generosity and an outspoken strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Born in Vientiane Laos on september tenth nineteen forty two, she grew up. With a deep love for her culture, her tradition and her family heritage and values. She built a life rooted in compassion and hard work, always putting the needs of others before her on. Her home was a place of good food, cleanliness beyond perfection. Flowers so beautiful in the yard you couldnt help but breathe in the nastalgic feelings flowers tend to bring out in us, and in a sense that is what she has done with all of her children, she has planted, nurtured, shaped, guided, kept warm through the elements. and allowed us to blossom into the beautiful people that we are today so we can continue to pass her spirit into our loved ones.
Boun was knowing for her hardworking and tenacious spirit and never willing to accept any type of defeat, whether it was the wisdom in her words, her love of everything botanical, happiness created from her cooking, museam cleanliness standard in her home, we were allowed to experience the very best of all of it cause she never would settle for mediocre.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to pass on through her surviving children, Ammone Ouk Hernandez 66, Lamphone Young 63, Sovatphone Ouk 56, Rithy "Tee" Ouk 49, Noy Ouk 49, along with all her grandkids and great great grandkids, neighbors that became friends that friends became just like family. Like the Phousts, the Andersons, the Swans and so so many more.
Her children invite all her family and friends to come. Join her in honoring her life at Hughes Mortuary 1037 east 700 south, St. George, Utah 84790 435-674-5000, a viewing will be held from 6pm to 8pm Friday the 3rd, the funeral services will be held Saturday the 4th from 1-3pm, we invite and encourage you to also attend with us afterwards. At the Snow Canyon first ward on Dixie Drive after the funeral. For food and refreshments.
