David L. Huskinson, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in St. George, Utah. He was 70 years old.
David was born on August 10, 1955, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Garn and Shirley Loveland Huskinson. From a young age, he showed the steady work ethic and cheerful spirit that would become hallmarks of his life. As a boy, he delivered newspapers and spent his summers moving pipes on potato farms in Rexburg. Those early experiences taught him discipline, responsibility, and the value of hard work—lessons he carried with him throughout his life.
After graduating from Cedar City High School in 1973, David served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kentucky/Louisville Mission. His faith in Jesus Christ remained a cornerstone of his life, and he shared that faith through quiet service, kind words, and a sincere testimony.
David pursued higher education at Southern Utah State College (now Southern Utah University), where he earned a degree in History with a minor in Instructional Media. He went on to work for more than 30 years at the Washington County Library in St. George as an audio/visual and periodical librarian. There, he touched the lives of countless patrons and colleagues, always offering a warm smile and a helping hand.
David was married to Dena Marriott (later divorced) and later to Tina Huskinson (separated). Though life’s paths took different turns, his marriages brought love and the joy of raising his three sons—Tyler, Matthew, and Adam—who were the pride of his life.
David loved his family dearly. His three sons—Tyler, Matthew, and Adam—were his greatest joy, and he was proud of the men they became. He loved his granddaughters, Trinalee and Talia, dearly. Though distance kept them apart, he cherished them in his heart and treasured the moments they were able to share.
He found peace and purpose in temple and genealogy work, dedicating countless hours to connecting families across generations. David was known for his gentle demeanor, unwavering kindness, and genuine ability to make others feel valued and loved.
David is survived by his sons, Tyler (Theresa) of Minneola, Florida; Matthew of Ogden, Utah; and Adam of St. George, Utah; and his two granddaughters, Trinalee and Talia. He also leaves behind his sisters, Gay (Bruce) Sullivan of St. George, Utah; Jodie (Richard) Jones of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Julie (Randy) Bleazard of American Fork, Utah. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Garn and Shirley Huskinson.
