Deborah Chapman Messerole

Our beloved sister and companion, Deborah Meserole passed away on January 31st after battling health problems for many years. She was born on October 25th, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a true example of toughness and determination. We will all miss her spunk and spirit. She loved telling stories about her childhood. We will all miss hearing her family stories.

Deborah spent much of her early life living in New Orleans. She spent lots of time with her beloved "Granny and Papa".  She grew up with the amazing sights and sounds and tastes of the South. Our mother taught her to cook many great dishes.  She loved southern food.  A craw-fish boil or a pot of gumbo and red beans and rice were among her favorites.  Deborah was a Southern girl and exuded southern hospitality.  She was a protector of dogs and cats and anyone less fortunate.
She is survived by her devoted companion of 20 years, Donnie Chavers. Her sister Lory Robinson (Kevin), brother Shaughn Ziech (Stephanie) her nephews Austie Robinson (Celeste), Nathan Robinson (Shachell), Dirk Robinson (Deanna) her niece's Jessica Ziech and Amy Sidlow (Scott) and her grandson Brian Bedford.  She was like a mother to Donnie’s daughters Becky (Roger) and Natasha and “Maw-Maw” to Becky’s children Cody and Julia. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother Lou Ziech and her son Billy Meserole.
