Dennis Eugene Thomas, of LaVerkin, Utah. passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 81. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Dennis will be remembered for his sharp mind, loving heart and a sense of humor that brightened the lives of many.
Born on August 13, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Estelle Vandres and Charles Thomas. He was married to Vera Clark on June 10, 1965, in Boulder Colorado. He is survived by his spouse Vera Clark Thomas, of LaVerkin, Utah, a daughter Melissa Norris, of New Harmony, Utah, son Casey Thomas (wife Trisha) of Las Vegas, NV, his sister Coralea Hayes, of Oregon and Delbert Pragnell of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Leah, Zechariah, Suzie, Rebekkah, Chris, Todd, Riley, Rory and 6 great grandchildren Rylan, Micah, Wesley, Orion, Jameson, Connor.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Glenn, Jimmy, and Steven, his sisters, Janice, Marge, Karen, Cherie, and Sharon. Dennis grew up with a natural knack for fixing things, a gift that led to a lifelong passion for automotive work and woodworking. His skill and patience with any project, whether under the hood of a car or a table saw were some of his strengths. He worked in construction for most of his life, he enjoyed the freedom it gave him to work at his own pace.
He was a proud and active member of the Jehovah's witnesses and never missed an opportunity to spread the love and compassion of Jehovah. The memorial will be held at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1490 S 700 W, Hurricane, Utah. Date and time to be determined.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E 700 S; St. George, Utah, (435) 674-5000. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name as an army veteran to The Wounded Warrior Project.org.
