Edrick Carl Twitchell

Edrick Carl Twitchell, 87, of St. George, Utah, passed away June 13, 2025.

Ed was born April 3, 1938, in Simi Valley, California, to Carl Willard Twitchell and Eula Hunt. Ed was raised in Cedar City, Utah. He graduated from Utah State University.

Ed married Joey Leavitt on November 24, 1961, in the St. George Temple. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Washington. They later moved to Glendale, Arizona, where he worked for Good Year Aerospace Corporation. They moved to St. George, Utah, and he grew the Saint George Federal Credit Union into the Southern Utah Federal Credit Union as the President and CEO. In his role at the credit union, he was instrumental in helping many people in the community with their financial matters.

He lived a life of service, helping hundreds of young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. His favorite part of scouting was attending Wood Badge and Timberline. He received the Silver Beaver award in recognition of dedicating significant time and effort to shape future generations of young men. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served his whole life in many callings, including: Scout Master, Elders Quorum President, and Bishop. He made friends easily, enjoyed talking with everyone, and was a friend to all. He loved Dutch oven cooking and prepared many delicious meals that were enjoyed by friends, family, ward members, and fellow scouters.

Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joey, their four children: Stacey Jo (David) McLean, Tami (Dee) Jackman, Jeff (Deanne) Twitchell, Devin (Leslie) Twitchell, 5 grandchildren: Heather McLean, Hailey McLean, McKenzie McLean, Hunter (Allyson) Twitchell, Lily Twitchell and his sisters: Mona Woosley and Barbara Hulet. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Willard Twitchell and Eula Hunt.

A viewing will be held at Hughes Mortuary in St. George, Utah, on June 20, 2025, from 6-8 pm, and a graveside service on June 21, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Enterprise City Cemetery.
