Elaine Colver Thompson

Elaine Colver Thompson passed peacefully surrounded by her family on September 21st, 2026.

Elaine was born to parents Roy Emery and Florence Elaine Colver on November 16th, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the first of her 3 siblings, Roy Dean Colver, Allan Leslie Colver, and Sue Ann Asay.

Elaine attended the University of Minnesota to become an X-Ray Technician. It was there that she met Dennis Craig Thompson, the couple got married on March 19th, 1960. Dennis and Elaine eventually welcomed 6 children, including a set of triplets, into their growing family. Ever the dedicated worker, both at home and professionally, Elaine worked for many years as an X-ray and Lab technician for the Salt Lake Clinic and later became an Insurance Medical Examiner. She could draw blood from anyone and was amazing at her job. Elaine retired from her work just one year ago at the age of 85.

Elaine was an amazing mother and accepted everyone for exactly who they were and loved them endlessly. She loved being a grandma, later a great grandma, and had a special relationship with each one of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Craig (Julie) Thompson, Cyndi (Doug) Martin, Matthew (Steven) Thompson, Katie (Mitch) Evans, Keith Thompson, and Kim Thompson. 13 grandchildren (including her favorite Ashton) and 22 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Roy Emery and Florence Elaine Colver, her husband Dennis Craig Thompson, and nephew Roy Emery Colver.
