Gary Russell Guernsey age 69 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in St. George, Utah as a result of cancer.
He was born June 2, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to Russell Albert and Iris Smith Guernsey.  Gary grew up in San Bernardino, California and graduated from Pacific High School in 1965. The family then moved to Ogden, Utah.  Gary attended Utah State University majoring in business. 
On June 2, 1972 he married his sweetheart Susan Elmer.  They  had two children and he was a devoted father coaching soccer and baseball.  Gary was a gifted salesman and entrepreneur.  He was outgoing and confident.  He sold real estate and lighting products.  His most recent company was Saddleback Lighting in St. George.  Gary accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1995.  It changed his life.  He had the heart of an evangelist and talked to anyone who would listen about Jesus Christ.  He joined the Gideons continuing to reach the lost by passing out bibles.  He served as a speaker and area president.  Gary loved to travel, golf, fishing and movies.  He is survived by his wife Susan, son Todd (Natasha) Guernsey, daughter Coral (James) Wheat, four grandchildren, Blake and Colton Guernsey, Kaden and Ryder Wheat.  Memorial service will be on Saturday May 6th at 11:00, Calvary Chapel, 3911 South Pioneer Road, St. George, Utah,
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International.
