Gregory Dwayne Barlow, age 52, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Colorado City, Arizona.

Greg was born September 9, 1973, in Hildale, Utah, to Sandra Adaire Meldrum and Alma Richard Barlow. He attended elementary, middle, and high school at the Colorado City Unified School District.

He was a man of his own volition. At the age of 19, he married his high school sweetheart, Alice Darger Barlow, on November 16, 1992, in Toquerville, Utah. The two met in 1st grade, and he was infatuated. They started dating freshman year of high school. In a time where the people around them didn’t always get to choose love, they chose each other and have continued to choose each other every day. The two spent their first year of marriage in Salt Lake City, Utah, and returned to Colorado City shortly after to be closer to family before welcoming their eldest daughter, Stacy. The two have lived together raising their children in town ever since.

Greg found joy in the people closest to him. He loved spending time with his wife and family, whether at home or on an adventure like camping at Yankee Meadows, fishing, or riding four-wheelers. He also enjoyed sports and working out. He was naturally inquisitive and was always looking to learn new things. If he didn't know the answer, he would be over on his laptop Googling or watching a YouTube video to figure it out. Greg had a deep love for history and an insatiable curiosity. As a child, he would even read the dictionary for fun. His favorite books growing up were the encyclopedias, which later in life made him the best trivia partner.

In his early life, he worked many different jobs in construction, from concrete to finish trim, as he looked to provide for his family. Later, he made the transition to work with his brother Rod and went full-time helping to build an eBay reselling business. This eventually led him to become a licensed auctioneer, traveling to St. Louis, Missouri, to earn his certification as they continued to build the business. His children recall fond memories of working alongside him and helping him with the auctions. With a natural knack for technology and computers, Greg later went on to serve as the IT Director of the Colorado City Unified School District for 15 years, where his dedication made a lasting impact.

Outside of work, creating a home for his family was the most important thing in his life. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything. He was always working on projects and finding ways to make things better. He was incredibly kind, generous, and loving, and made a lasting impression on the lives of everyone he came in contact with.

It's hard to express how much he truly enjoyed his music and movies; it was his way of experiencing the world. You could always find him listening to music or watching a show. He had a special appreciation for sarcastic comedy, and a soft spot for classic '80s films. Some of his favorites included Joe vs. the Volcano, the original Tremors, Star Wars, and series like Breaking Bad, How It's Made, Modern Marvels, and old cartoons from his childhood.

Above all, Greg will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be dearly missed.
