Howard Thomas Hannibal, known to family and friends as Tom, was a loving and doting husband of 53 years. His passing on Sunday the 26th day of April 2026 marks the end of his 84 years on this earth and the start of his time in the afterlife in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
Tom was born on Thursday the 11th day of December 1941 in San Diego, California to Howard and Hannah Hannibal. He was the oldest of 4 children. While growing up and living in San Diego he developed a passion for golf and became “The Master of Roses”. Tom could grow roses in places that landscapers said they would not grow. For him they did grow and they would bloom with the largest and most beautiful roses you could imagine.
He worked for years for a small insurance company that grew as he worked his way up the ladder to the point the company sent him to manage a unit in a newer office in Orange County where he spent many years raising his family.
After all the children had grown up and moved out Tom and Linda decided to follow a dream of Tom’s to own his own insurance agency. After roughly 35 years of success, they sold the agency and moved to St. George, Utah to live out their retirement years.
Tom was preceded in death by his younger brother Bob as well as his youngest son Jimmy. He is survived by his wife Linda currently in Utah, four children, Mark, in Maine, Dave, in Oregon, Sherry, in California, and Julie, in Nevada, as well as 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his two younger sisters Pam and Penny.
