Jacob Ryan Barlow

“Jacob The Cowboy Kid”

Jacob Ryan Barlow, lovingly known as “Jacob the Cowboy Kid,” of Gunlock, Utah, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 17.

Jacob was born on May 20, 2008, in Biloxi, Mississippi. From an early age, Jacob had a love for the cowboy lifestyle and the outdoors. A first-generation horse owner, Jacob took great pride in learning the ropes of horsemanship and living the western life he loved. He had also been riding dirt bikes since the age of three and was happiest anywhere he could ride, whether on horseback or tearing down a trail on his bike. He loved trucks, rodeo, and the freedom of the outdoors. Those who knew Jacob will remember his adventurous spirit and the joy he brought to those around him.

Jacob was a proud junior firefighter with the Gunlock Fire Department and had spent the last two years training toward his wildland firefighting certifications. He was passionate about serving his community and working alongside the firefighters he looked up to.

Jacob was deeply loved by his family and will be forever missed. He leaves behind his parents, Clark and Kara Barlow and his brothers, Kason and Josiah Barlow.

He was cherished by his grandparents Pamela and Bob Butler; Truman and Ramona Barlow; Robert “Motorcycle Grandpa” Stewart and Grandmother Kelly Green.

Jacob also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Barlow, Stewart, Cox, Suzuki, Johnson, and Geffers families, all of whom loved him dearly.

Jacob’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, adventure, and the spirit of a true cowboy. He will always be remembered for his big heart, his fearless nature, and the way he lived life on his own terms.

“Your boots may be empty, but your spirit rides on.”
