Janalyn Smith

Janalyn Kay Smith died Sunday May 10, 2026 at the age of 73. she was a resident of The St. George, Bella Terra Nursing and Rehab. She received excellent care from the kind, professional staff!

Janalyn was raised in Texas and California. Parents moved to Orem, Utah in her sophomore year. She graduated Orem High School on 1971.

Janalyn was born December 26, 1952 in Corpus Christie, Texas to her parents, Daniel Nelson Smith Jr. and Florence Joyce (Johnson) Smith. Janalyn never married or had children.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her oldest brother, Daniel Nelson Smith III, one niece, Heidi J. Gatherum, and Nephew Ryan Smith.

She is survived by her sister, Florence Joyce (Smith) Cook and spouse Richard V. Cook, living in Fredonia, Arizona; Sister Julie Eilene Bott, and spouse Russel D Bott, living in Parowan, Utah; Brother David L. Smith and spouse Colleen Smith, living in Gooding Idaho; Sister Joanne Kathleen Fowler, spouse Cleon Fowler (deceased) living in Bloomington, Utah; Daniel's Wife Mari Smith, living in Day Break Community in South Jordan, Utah. Janalyn is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janalyn had worked as a nurse's aide, house keeper. She took care of an ailing mother; and was a loyal friend!
