Jeanne Martha Liken

Jeanne Liken, 72, beloved wife, friend, philanthropist and mentor, passed peacefully in the arms of her husband, Jim, on Saturday, May 3, 2025

Jeanne served in the Air Force as a medic in the Vietnam era. After service, she became a Registered Nurse. When she retired, she and Jim relocated to St. George. There she made numerous friends as a volunteer at St. George Regional Hospital. Jeanne was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood.

Jeanne had many interests. Whatever she pursued, she excelled in it. She loved reading, baking, gardening, volunteering and friendships. Her keen intellect and quick wit entertained all whom she encountered. Jeanne especially loved animals. She took it upon herself to train her dog, Holly, as a therapy animal. Jeanne and Holly spent many hours as a dynamic duo comforting patients, staff and visitors at hospitals, nursing homes and hospice.

Most of all, she loved her husband. In the last 38 years, there wasn’t a day that went by where she did tell Jim, “I love you so!” Duly noted, Jeanne, something we can all learn to say to our loved ones. You will be missed by all who knew you.

Memorial service and interment will be announced in the near future. Anyone wishing to memorialize her, in lieu of flowers, is invited to send a contribution to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.
