Jerry Lawrence Campbell Sr.

St. George Utah-Jerry Lawrence Campbell 89 years young passed away March 16, 2023 with his daughters by his side.

He was born in Rigby Idaho January 9, 1934 to Lawrence Oscar Campbell and Willie May Quinn Campbell. Married Jean Page Campbell June 10, 1955 in Rigby Idaho.

He was raised in Rigby Idaho. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea. He was discharged in 1955. He came back home and met and married Jeani. They moved to Salt Lake City Utah where he attended the University of Utah and received a master’s degree in civil engineering. After receiving his master’s degree he worked for numerous companies, before starting a few of his own. For-Shor Company and Campbell’s Company to name a couple.

He joined the Air National Guard Reserve where he made many lifelong friends. Still to this day meeting for coffee every Monday morning. After serving for 30 years he was able to retire as a Major. He was proud to service his Country.

He loved to travel with our Mother. They were able to visit Scotland, England, Mexico, but his favorite was Korea. He loved taking the boat to Lake Powell, it was always on the list since 1968. He was able to get a private pilot license, and purchased a small plane. He would fly all over the country. His favorite place to fly would be down to Baja Mexico and go fishing .

He “retired” in St. George Utah and became very involved in the Community and politics, until Jeani became ill. At which time he took care of her until her death in 2021.

He is survived by 2 of his 3 children. Cydney Palmer (Michael), Keli Kesler (Christopher), Shannon Campbell (daughter-in-law). 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is wife Jeani, his parents, sister Lynda, brother Douglas and his son Jerry Jr.
