John Avery Hill

John Avery Hill passed away peacefully at 73 years old at his home in St. George, UT, on December 2, 2014. John was born December 8, 1940, in Antigo, Wisconsin to Avery and Maxine Hill.   

John was a proud veteran of the US Navy and settled in Salt Lake City, UT with Ruth Colby. They married on June 8, 1966, raised three boys and were happily together for over 37 years.  

John loved spending time with his family in the outdoors, and although he worked hard, he always found time for adventures with his sons. He was an avid automobile enthusiast and could often be found under a car or racing around in one.   

John enjoyed his retirement in Southern Utah with his beloved fiancé Gladys Jean Wallace. They traveled the world together, and saw places like Norway, China, and the South Pacific.
