Johnny Gary Endicott, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in St. George, Utah, on October 28, 2025. He was born in Houston, Texas, on October 15, 1945, to John and Alverna Endicott. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his son Jason, his brother Jim, his daughter-in-law Ashley and his beloved miracle granddaughter Gianna Endicott.
Gary married the love of his life, Linda, on December 5, 1965. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1963 and serving honorably as a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his service, he worked as an Aircraft Radio Repairman and played baseball for the Air Force team.
After completing his military service, Gary began working for Sears Roebuck while pursuing a degree in Business at San Diego State University. He graduated and continued his career with Sears in the Loss Prevention department. Through hard work and dedication, he rose through the ranks from Store Loss Prevention Manager to Group Loss Prevention Manger to the Southwest Regional Loss Prevention Manager. After his Loss Prevention rolls he was promoted to the District Operations Manager of the Los Angeles District. He then was promoted to the store manager of the Thousand Oaks store, then to North Hollywood and finally retiring at the Bakersfield store. Despite the demands of his career, Gary never missed a single baseball game or practice for his son, Jason, whom he also coached.
After retirement, Gary and Linda moved to St. George, Utah, where they embraced the joys of retired life—traveling across the United States and cruising to destinations they loved. Gary was an avid golfer and played many of the country’s top-rated courses. He especially cherished his time with the St. George Golf Club Men’s League. He was a devoted husband who invested deeply in Linda’s happiness and an extraordinary father who always put family first.
Beyond his family and career, Gary was a mentor to many, offering guidance both professionally and personally. He was a man of faith, and that faith carried him through life’s highs and lows. To those who knew him, Gary was genuine, direct, and deeply caring—qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
It’s often said that someone “made a positive mark in life,” and Gary truly did. He will be remembered for his honesty, his unique sense of humor, and his unwavering love for those around him. Gary, we all loved you—and you will never be forgotten.
Gary’s military service and Celebration of Life will be held on December 5, 2025 at Hughes Mortuary @ 2pm.
