With broken hearts, we announce that our beloved daughter, Kenya Elizabeth Reimer, age 22, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Born on July 15, 2002, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Kenya brought light, laughter, and fierce love into the lives of those who knew her. She was kind, loyal to the core, and unafraid to feel deeply—qualities that made her both courageous and unforgettable.
Kenya was full of depth and passion. She cared deeply and felt things intensely. She had strong opinions—about nearly everything from politics and religion to education and the world around her—but also had a tender heart that responded to beauty, especially in music. A well-crafted lyric or moving melody could bring her to tears. She was often the first to offer a kind comment or message of support, reaching out to others with warmth and compassion—even through a simple reply on social media. Kenya was also genuinely funny and could be counted on for a good laugh that brought light into the room.
Kenya faced challenges with mental health and addiction, and though her journey was not an easy one, she fought with a bravery that inspired those around her. She was so much more than her struggles—she was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a soul who loved big and lived with intensity.
She is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Julene Reimer; her sisters Brenna (Kimball) Stucki, Aleia (Jaxon) Nilsson, Kia, and Jade; two nieces and two nephews; her grandparents Leo and Sussette Sullivan and Todd Reimer. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Donna Reimer. Kenya is also remembered by extended family and dear friends who loved her deeply and will carry her memory forward.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E 700 S, St. George, Utah. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. and a life celebration at 10:45 a.m. Interment will take place at Washington City Cemetery at noon, with a family luncheon immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made via Venmo @LoveForKenya to help honor Kenya’s memory. And if you're not in a place to give, we ask that you take a moment to reach out to someone—send a quick message to let them know they matter, they are important, and they are strong.
Loved beyond words, missed beyond measure.
