Listen to Obituary

It is with sorrow and joy we share that our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Kori Dyan (Little) Hyde passed into the loving arms of our Savior on Monday, October 6, 2025.

Kori was born on February 3, 1974 at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, California. She was a darling baby. She walked early but didn't begin talking until much later. She was a listener, an observer and a learner. Kori was smart. She was an excellent student and always got A's. She was competitive and was always trying to do better and be better. This carried over into her love of sports. Kori was definitely a "Daddy's Girl" and she and her dad spent many hours together shooting baskets, cycling, hitting golf balls...anything to try to "out do" one another.

Kori grew up in Corona, California and graduated from Corona High School in 1992 and went off to BYU where she majored in math....oop's...changed her mind and changed her major to Health Science, with a minor in Coaching. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1998 and later earned her Master's Degree from SUU majoring in Sports Conditioning and Performance. She became a Cardiac Rehab Therapist at Dixie Regional Hospital (now St. George Regional Hospital) and worked there for 10 years until her illness prevented her from continuing. She served her patients with love, compassion and kindness. During that time she also served on the Huntsman Senior Games Administrative Team as Medical Support Staff Leader.

Kori married Russell William Hyde in the San Diego, California Temple on June 8, 1996 and together they shared three beautiful children...Garrett James, Grant William and Gracie Madison. Russ, their children and their two precious granddaughters were the loves of Kori's life.

While training for her fourth marathon, Kori was diagnosed in April 2015 with 4th stage glioblastoma and was given about a year to live. Well the above mentioned, competitive spirit, kicked in and Kori began working hard to prove the doctors wrong. She kept living!!! It wasn't easy but she worked hard every day to do everything she could to stay healthy and strong. She lived to watch her children grow up, graduate high school, serve missions, go to college, get married and begin their families. She was so proud of her children. Kori fought this horrible cancer valiantly for 10½ years. Russ was by her side through it all and cared for her tenderly day after day after day...until she took her last breath.

Kori was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She built her life around her testimony of Jesus Christ and tried every day, in every way, to emulate His life in hers. She was a faithful Temple-goer, even when her body didn't work well and made it so difficult...she carried on.

Kori is survived by her dedicated husband of 29 years, Russell Hyde, her 3 beautiful children, Garrett (Cescily), Grant (Kailee), Gracie and 2 darling granddaughters, Scotlyn Rae and Evelynn Kaye. Her parents, Jim and Nancy Little. Her sisters, Kaci Jo Lund (Raleigh) and Kami Michele Ellsworth (Brent) and many other friends and family who love her.

It has been said..."the only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life" and so we will be okay with our sorrow because of the love we have shared for Kori and her life on earth. We will miss you Koko but we'll look forward to the day when we will see you again to then spend eternity together.
