St. George, UT - Lauretta Jeffery Jacobsen Swansborough, 68, passed away the morning of May 3rd in her home surrounded by family. 

Lauretta was born to Edgar Hale Jeffery and Laura Wyora Hunter on May 10, 1954 in Delta, Utah. She met and married George Patrick Swansborough on December 10, 1993. They were sealed in the St. George temple for time and all eternity in July 2012. She was a life-long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Professionally, Lauretta was a beautician and esthetician. Lauretta attended Hollywood Beauty School in Kearns, Utah and opened her first salon, “Lauretta’s Buttons and Bows,” in Salt Lake City. Her last business was “Hair Free Electrology” in St. George. 

Artistically, she was multi-talented. She loved spending her time acting and directing in local theater and doing stand-up comedy. A lifelong musician, Lauretta was a singer/songwriter, member of John Houston's Gospel Choir and Lieto Voices, and member of several bands with her husband Pat. Lauretta took second place in Dixie’s Got Talent with her rendition of “Fever.” She is also an artist & a wonderful seamstress. Making everything from baby blessing outfits, crocheted blankets, baptism dresses, to wedding dresses for her family.  

Her greatest joy came from raising her children. She loved always being in the thick of things, spelling words, science fair projects, & book reports–being at the crossroads of life. 

Lauretta, is a mother of nine, grandmother of 25, and great grandmother of 4. 

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Hale and Wyora Jeffery, Brother, Randell Jeffery, and great granddaughter Ciara Goree. Survived by husband, 4 siblings, 9 children, 25 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Siblings: [KJ] Kenneth (& Leslie) Jeffery, Margene (& Raymond) Stevens, Annette (& Mike) Reece, Randall Jeffery, Gordon (& Mary) Jeffery.

Children: Jo Ann (& Kelly) Holman, Laura Carter, Jeff (& Lori) Jacobsen, Chad (& Carey) Jacobsen, Rebecca (& Benjamin) Coulter, Nicholas Jacobsen (& Laura Carlson), Nathan Jacobsen, Christopher (& Sunday) Jacobsen, Patrick (& Dej) Swansborough.

Grandkids: Caleb (& Josie) Holman, Carly (& Daniel) Hales, Catania (& Tim) Stevens, Jonee (& Christopher) Goree, Joshua Holman, Abigail Holman, Jayla (& Bradley) Thomas, Bay Carter, Colton Jacobsen, Justin Jacobsen, Melody (& Nathan) Mukubwa, Carsyn Jacobsen, Corbyn Jacobsen, Cole Jacobsen, Cooper Jacobsen, Caybrie Jacobsen, Cameron Jacobsen, RayLynn Jacobsen, and Sydnie Jacobsen.

Great Grandchildren: Noah Hales, Ciara & Baby Goree coming in September, and Faith & Evan Thomas.
