Leah Ann Lister, 52, of Hurricane, Utah, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Leah was born May 19, 1973, in Sacramento, California, and was lovingly raised by her mother, Ora Swenson Owen, and father, David E. Owen. She was raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and attended high school in Page, Arizona. Leah also spent a large portion of her life in Carbon County, Utah, a place that always held a special place in her heart. In 1994, she married the love of her life, Tony John Lister, in the St. George Temple.
Leah lived life to the fullest. She loved music and was a devoted concertgoer — Stevie Nicks, Wynnona Judd, and Dolly Parton lost one of their biggest fans. She loved to travel, especially along the East Coast, visiting places tied to meaningful moments in her family’s history, including Philadelphia. Leah was a creator at heart; whether cooking, crafting, making art, or planning trips with friends and family, she found joy in creating and sharing experiences with those she loved. She was a self-proclaimed baddie, but everyone knows that she is a softie to her core.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Tony John Lister; her children John David Lister; Levi Swenson Lister and his wife Dayna Marie Lister; Joseph Thomas Lister and his wife Trinity Raine Lister and their son John Tony Lister; Emma Catherine Lister and her children Lincoln Hunter Wittwer, Cora Rose Wittwer, and Cheyenne Joanne Wittwer; and Ashley Ann Boyer and her daughter Jackie Dean Button.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ora Swenson Owen; her father, David E. Owen; her father-in-law John Lister; her brothers Ben Turner, Dan Turner, her brother-in-law Darrell Valdez; her sister-in-law Lisa Lister; her sister-in-law Jackie Lister and her nephew Zeb Turner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17th, at 155 E 1050 N, Hurricane, UT 84737, with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E 700 S, St. George, Utah. (435) 674-5000.
