Leland Howard Peters, 88, of Santa Clara, Utah, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, at 8:12 AM.

Lee was born in Glendale, California, on October 26, 1937, to William Howard and Lois Ritchie Peters. He earned a master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and went on to build a diverse and successful career spanning banking, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship across both California and Utah. His sharp banking background made him exceptional with finance and numbers, a skill that extended into his personal life and love for games.

An avid golfer and a man who truly loved life, Lee was deeply involved in his communities. During his years in Park City, he was a familiar, active face at the Park City Municipal Golf Course, always eager to help in any way possible, including maintaining the golf carts. In St. George, he paired his love for the sport with his financial expertise by serving on the financial committee at the Entrada Country Club. Lee was also incredibly social and treasured playing dominos, traveling, and spending time with his friends. In his later years, even as his health compromised his activity, he found immense joy in volunteering alongside his wife at the Utah Food Bank.

Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Lisa Peters; his children, Paul Peters, Jeff Peters, Shari Crisman, and Darci Peters; his sister, Susan Scollick; and six grandchildren spread throughout the country as well as many nieces and nephews who brought him great pride. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Peters.

Lee’s warmth, energy, and love for his family and friends will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lee’s honor to his favorite charities: the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary or the Utah Food Bank
