Leslie Wilford Camp (99) of St. George, Utah passed away on June 4, 2025. He was born April 16, 1926 in San Luis Obispo, California to Leslie R. Camp and Mabel E. (Uhrstrom) Camp.

He married Margaret Williamson in the Salt Lake Temple on September 9, 1946. They had 7 children. Later he remarried Sandra E. Sanford in the St. George Temple on November, 11 2004 and he gained 3 step-children.

He grew up in California, after high school World War II was on so he went to work for Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica as a riveter. The Army Air Corps drafted him in June 1944 and was sent to basic training. From there he went to Amarillo Texas to train as a flight engineer on B17's, his main job was a flight line mechanic. In June of 1946 he was discharged from the Army Air Corps at Camp Beal in Northern California.

He later went to Brigham Young University and first majored in zoology and it's fossils led him to Geology which became his passion for many years ending up in Casper Wyoming. He earned a Masters at John's Hopkins in 1951. With the encouragement of a ward member who was an insurance agent, he converted to the insurance business and was an independent representative for a number of various types of insurance companies until he retired in 2012.

He was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. he also served on 2 missions with his wife, Sandra Camp.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Camp, St. George. 4 sons and 2 daughters; Karen Ann Camp, Steven Leslie Camp, Dr. Jonathan Franz Camp and Daughter-in-law Kristi Camp, Bruce Eric Camp, Curtis Reed Camp, and Lisa Camp. 3 step-children; Dusty Downey, Mrs. Mike (Denise) Poormon, and Mrs. Tom (Sherri) Smith. 20 grandchildren and many great-grandkids. He was preceeded in death by one son Roderick Martin Camp, one brother Jonathan Arthur Camp, and Margaret Williamson Camp.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. George at the LDS Ward Chapel on 1610 North Dixie Downs Rd. Friends may call at the St. George LDS Ward Chapel on 1610 North Dixie Downs Rd. Friday, June 13, 2025 from 6-8 pm. Burial will be in St. George at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
