Lois Maxine Eidahl

October 13, 1931 — May 7, 2025

St. George, UT

On May 7, 2025, Lois Maxine Eidahl passed away peacefully at the age of 93. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Lois was born on October 13, 1931, in the old Salt Lake General Hospital to Ellen Viola Norelle and Albert Sidney Romney. She was the second of six children and was lovingly raised in Sandy, Utah by her mother and stepfather, Earl Phillips. Lois graduated from Jordan High School and attended Salt Lake Business School, going on to work at Sperry Univac and then as a real estate agent.

Lois married and had four children: Debbie, Lonie, Danny, and Danise. On May 7, 1972, she married her second husband, Wallace Franklin Eidahl, blending their families and adding three more children—Patty, Julie, and Rachel—into her life. Together, they created a true-to-life Brady Bunch.

Lois was the perfect combination of warmth and kindness, laughter and love. A gifted crafter, she made everything from crocheted blankets to ceramics. She delighted in sewing dresses and pajamas for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kitchen was always filled with delicious meals, lovingly prepared to ensure everyone left with a full belly and a full heart.

She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often saying they kept her young. She cherished lunches with her sisters and friends and loved shopping trips with her daughters and granddaughters.

Lois was preceded in death by her daughter Debbie (Bryon) Sandall; her stepdaughter Julie (John); her husband, Wally Eidahl; her sisters Thelma, Phyllis, and Barbara; and her brothers Marvin and Ronnie.

She is survived by her daughter Danise and her two sons, Lonie and Danny; stepdaughter Patty (Bob); 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Lois was the kind of mother and grandmother who could solve any problem with a warm hug and a comforting meal. She was the best shopping partner—even if you often lost her behind clothing racks taller than she was. She was the home everyone wanted to visit, the calming voice in times of trouble, and the arms that always welcomed you in. She was the very definition of love.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory, her warmth, and her love will live on forever in the hearts she touched. Our hearts are calmed by knowing what a beautiful reunion took place as she joined her husband and daughter.

"Life’s memories, stored in our mind, some we treasure when life was kind. There are memories that glisten like gold, store them well—they’re treasures to hold."~ Wallace F. Eidahl
