Lorna Faye Mora

Lorna Faye Mora, age 75, of St. George, Utah, passed away on March 15, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Lorna was born on March 25, 1947, in Tehachapi, California, to Richard and Muriel Wilkson. Her parents relocated to Barstow, California, when she was five. Lorna graduated from Barstow High School in 1965. While there, she developed her beautiful soprano voice in the Riffian Choir and Girls Glee Club. On January 27, 1965, Lorna competed for the Miss Barstow beauty crown. She sang “The Kiss Waltz” by Arditti.

After graduating, she worked at Teplow’s Drug Store, she was a receptionist at a local doctor’s office, store manager for Hallmark, and an administrative clerk at Southern California Boiler.

In 1973 she married David McCartney (predeceased) who had a son David McCartney, Jr.. She and David had one son, Trevor McCartney. Lorna married Sal Mora, “the love of her life” on March 28, 2009, at Yosemite National Park in California.

Lorna enjoyed traveling, camping, playing board games, attending performing arts in St. George and surrounding area with her sister and best friend Sharon Jordan. She never hesitated to profess her love of God, family, and country. She maintained lifelong friendships. She adored children of all ages. She was always there to care for children, including nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lorna’s immediate family included: 10 children, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Sal Mora, son Trevor McCartney, Trevor’s wife Yvette and children, Paul and Faith; son David McCartney, David’s wife Yvonne and children, Chelsea and Paul Forster (and family); Catlin, Chloe, and Cassidy.

Daughter Ann Mora; son, Sal P. Mora, Sal’s wife Jennifer, and children, Zoe (and family), Jeremy, Kayla; son, David Mora; daughter, Stefani Basagoiti, Stefani’s husband Pablo, and children Andrew and Alyssa; daughter, Crystal Mora, and children Anthony (and family), Daniel (and family), Alexis, and Mikey; Will Mora, Will’s wife Sharlena, and children Aoife, Maya, Will Jr., AJ, Tommy, and Adam; daughter, Michelle Mora. Lorna was preceded by her son, Bryan Mora in 2021.

Lorna is survived by four siblings and their families: June Bennett, her husband David, daughters, Melissa and husband Russell Schultz (and family); Beth Bennett, Katie DeLozier, Katie’s children, (and family); Christie DeLozier, Christie’s husband James (and family). Sharon Jordan, her husband Bob, sons Brian Blevins and Trent Blevins and their families. Rickey Jordan. Bonnie Perry, her husband Tim Perry (predeceased), daughter Amanda Wright, and son, Phil Bacigalupi, and their families. William Wilkson, his wife Dianne Wilkson, son Matthew Wilkson and daughter Elizabeth Leeser and their families.

Lorna was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Mora in 2021.

Lorna’s favorite color was purple. Her family requests guest to wear purple at her Celebration of Life services.

California Services: will be held at Spencer Crossing Clubhouse at 35545 Evening Glow Dr. Murrieta, CA 92563 on April 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM.

Utah Services: will be held at Southland Bible Church, 195 E. Arrowweed Way, Washington, Utah, 84780 on May 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
