November 21, 1949 — May 24, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Lynn Edward Langston, passed away May 24, 2026, at the age of 76 with his sweetheart and best friend by his side. Lynn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 21, 1949, to Vance Ward and Bernice Shaw Langston. He was the fifth of six children.

He graduated from Granite High School in 1968. He loved every minute of his high school years playing football, running track and singing in the madrigals.

Lynn married the love of his life, his best friend, squabbling partner and game queen, Netta Unthank on January 17, 1969. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on their 10th anniversary. They were married 57 years and taught their family of love, loyalty, service, hard work, forgiveness, and of their Savior Jesus Christ.

Lynn and Netta were blessed with four children: Brenda (Cary), Rich (Jennifer), Jenny, and Joe (Kerry). They are also blessed with 13 awesome grandchildren, 24 beautiful great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that are like a second set of children to them.

Lynn was loyal, kind, a family man and had a genuine interest in everyone and what was important to them. He was so approachable and could strike up a conversation with anyone. All who knew him loved his infectious laugh. He was the funniest person many of us have ever known. He loved the outdoors, teaching his children to hunt, fish, camp, go boating and enjoy this beautiful world God gave us. He loved planning family outings, walking his dog and making the most of every day. He had a great love for animals and loved the many dogs he had throughout his life. We are sure he will be greeted with leaps and bounds by his dogs in heaven. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor and had a great impact for good on so many people that have been in his life.

Lynn served our country as a Sergeant in the Vietnam war in the United States Army where he earned a bronze star. His bravery and strength are admired by his family.

Lynn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a wonderful disciple of Jesus Christ. He held many church callings: home teacher and minister, Sunday School teacher, Young Men’s President, Bishopric Counselor, Ward Clerk, was on the High Counsel, and was a counselor in the Young Men’s for the Special Needs Mutual Program. He and Netta served their mission as the Housing Coordinators for the St. George Mission 2018-2019.

Lynn was an electrician with Wasatch Electric when he moved his family to St. George in 1985. He finished his career as the Operations Manager for the Dixie Center, was a licensed master electrician, general contractor and had many other professional certifications.

Lynn is survived by his adoring wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Anita Moore, brother Val (Joan) Langston, brother Tory (Renae) Langston, brother-in-law Ray Clegg and his dog Bo. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gaylen, sisters Vanice and Sandra, brother-in-law Dave Moore, and grandson Darrell Edward Blake.

He will be deeply missed but our family knows we will see him again. Families are forever.

Services will be at Green Valley third ward Chapel 1282 West 500 South Circle, St. George on Monday, June 1st, 2026, with a visitation at 9:30 and funeral at 11:00. Interment will follow at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 S. Dixie Drive.
