Michael Lynn McCarroll

Michael Lynn McCarroll was born on August 30th, 1947 in San Diego, California to Mary Elizabeth and George McCarroll. He passed away peacefully on November 22nd 2022 with his loving wife by his side. Michael was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mike had a very happy childhood in the San Fernando Valley. He was the youngest brother of three sisters Julie, Sandy, and Kathy. He graduated from Taft High School in 1965.

When Mike was eighteen, he met the love of his life Carol Lynn Grijalva. They married January 21st 1967 and were married for 56 years. They had four children, Michael R. McCarroll, Richard M. McCarroll, David L. McCarroll, and Kelly Ann McCarroll. The family was sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in 1974, and in 1979 they moved to Saint George, Utah.

Mike was a very devoted father and “poppa”. He was an observant man who enjoyed being around family whether it was football games, carving pumpkins, bbqing burgers, hiding easter eggs and sighing when the grandchildren dipped their fingers in the egg dye. He was always the one to crack the best jokes and he sure knew how to make everyone in the room laugh. To Mike’s friends and family he was known for his sense of humor, generous and giving personality, and unconditional love for his family. He will be deeply missed, but we know he is reunited with many loved ones who have been waiting for him to return home.

Mike is survived by his wife Carol McCarroll, his children Rick (Sachi) McCarroll, David (Candice) McCarroll, and Kelly McCarroll; Grandchildren BraKell Wiley, Mason Wiley, Reese Wiley, Sayer Leonard, Mahlia (James) Portwood, Kobe McCarroll, Max McCarroll, and AJ McCarroll, Chazz Kelser, E’lexiss Kesler, Kirsten Kesler.

He is preceded in death by his son Michael R. McCarroll and his parents Mary Elizabeth McCarroll and George McCarroll.

Funeral services will be held November 30th 2022 at 11:00 a.m at Hughes Mortuary, located at 1037 E 700 S, St. George, UT 84790.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 - 10:30 AM prior to the services.

Interment will be held at Tonaquint Cemetery.
