Myrna Lunt Rasmussen

June 5, 1939 — January 2, 2024

St. George, UT

Beloved wife, companion and friend Myrna Lunt Rasmussen 84, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in St. George, Utah of natural causes.  She was born on June 5, 1939 in Nephi, Utah to Eugene and Mildred McPherson Lunt. She graduated from Juab High School and attended Steven Henager Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She married her sweetheart, Byron Rasmussen, June 29, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her love and complete devotion for Byron was expressed in her daily acts of service for him.  They were married for 62 years.
Myrna worked as a secretary for a group of doctors at the Medical Arts Building, the Church Office Building, the district office school lunch program and as a legal secretary.  She was Byron’s faithful personal assistant throughout all of his professional and church positions including when Byron was the Stake Patriarch.  Her organization skills were unmatched.
Myrna has always considered herself “just a farm girl from Nephi”, but Byron’s work has taken them around the world.  She has lived in Nephi, Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, St. Anthony, Idaho, Kamas, Utah, American Samoa, Clearfield, Utah, London Ontario Canada, Greenbrook, New Jersey, Mesa, Arizona, Copenhagen, Denmark, Nauvoo, Illinois, and St. George, Utah.  They visited all 50 states, and many place around the world.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many ward and stake callings.
She served a mission in the Denmark Copenhagen mission where Byron was the mission president and Myrna was the mission mom. They also served as missionaries in the Nauvoo Temple mission. She served 12 years as a temple worker and shift coordinator in the Mesa Arizona temple.
Although Myrna was never able to have children, there are many who call her mother. Myrna loved Family History, Indexing, cooking, baking, sewing, and handiwork.  She was very meticulous in everything she did. She quietly went around serving, never seeking recognition or praise.
She is survived by her husband Byron Rasmussen, St. George, Utah, Kent Lunt (Claudette) Nephi, Utah, Deanna Lunt Taylor, Nephi, Utah.  She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Mildred McPherson Lunt.
