Naomi Ann Ross, 92, of St. George, Utah, passed away on April 15, 2026. She was born on June 27, 1933, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, to Oscar Krueger and Cecilia Spitzer Krueger. In October 1957, she married Rev. Myron Walter Ross, beginning a lifelong partnership in ministry, service, and family.
Raised in Plymouth, Naomi graduated from Plymouth Senior High School and later from Mission House College (now Lakeland University), earning her degree cum laude. Following graduation, she was appointed to Japan as a missionary for the Board of International Missions of the Evangelical and Reformed Churches (later the United Church of Christ, World Ministries). Her calling was to serve in church social work, and it shaped the early years of her adult life.
While traveling through San Francisco on her way to Japan, Naomi met her future husband, Rev. Myron W. Ross. Both were assigned to Japan and departed from San Francisco, stopping in Honolulu before continuing on to their mission posts. Naomi served in Sapporo, Morioka, and Kyoto. In 1957, she and Myron were married at Tokyo Union Church and later moved to Nishinomiya, where they resided at Kwansei Gakuin University. As a minister and missionary’s wife, she supported church and school communities, including work at Kobe Jogakuin and later as a librarian at Marist Brothers International School.
After retiring from their years of service abroad, Naomi and Myron made their home in Kaneohe, Hawai‘i; Phoenix and Pinetop, Arizona; and finally St. George, Utah. Throughout her life, Naomi remained devoted to education, community service, and the church, touching many lives with her quiet dedication and steady presence.
Naomi is survived by her daughter, Michelle Ross of Henderson, NV; her sons, Myles Ross and his wife, Gayla, of North Las Vegas, and Michael Ross of Tokyo, Japan; as well as five grandchildren and several great‑grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the SunRiver Community Center in St. George. Instead of flowers, donations to Applegate, Roots for Kids, or Switchpoint in St. George are encouraged, honoring Naomi’s lifelong commitment to service and community.
