Onjali Cleora Pettingill Obituary
Our precious Onjali Cleora Pettingill passed away after a fierce battle with breast cancer on April 18, 2022 with her family and friends by her side. She is survived by her three children who were the light of her life, Evee (14), Owen (12), and Isaac (8). Besides her children, Onjali is survived by her husband, Todd, her parents, Kelly and Margene Covington, her brothers, Jeremy and Chase, and her sisters, Jodee (Stafford) Southwick, Arika Bauer, and Alexie (Randy) Deines, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Onjali was born on May 3, 1984 in St George, Utah, to loving parents. She was raised in Hurricane and was a 2002 graduate from Hurricane High School. She went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Utah Valley State University. In 2005 she married Todd and they began their life together in Utah, and later moved to California where their children were born.
Onjali was known for her creative spirit and her eye for beauty and detail. She was a talented artist in photography, graphic design, watercolor, sewing, and home design. She loved to travel and was always ready for new experiences and adventures. She loved animals, loved to dance, loved to bake, loved music, loved to laugh, and loved life.
Onjali loved being a mother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children. She would teach them, play with them, explore museums and parks, and travel with them. Even when she was weary from cancer treatments, she would insist on doing everything with her kids. She loved her parents and her siblings and cherished every memory she made with her family. She also had many dear friends throughout every season of her life and treasured those relationships.
Onjali was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Even in the throes of cancer she maintained her faith, was always serving others, and always had a positive and optimistic perspective. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
