Pamela Horton, age 79, was reunited with her parents and her Father in Heaven on January 3, 2026. She was born December 3, 1946 to Ellis and Carol Carter. Pam married her wonderful husband, John on September 20, 1969 in the St George Temple.
Pam was raised in Parowan surrounded by many family members on all sides. Since grandparents, aunts and uncles, all lived close by, she enjoyed spending time being with them. She had fond memories of those times. She grew up and attended Parowan High School where she was a Ramette, a dancer on the high school drill team. After high school, Pam attended a party at her cousin’s home where she met John Horton. Upon meeting, they decided to go on a date. As they dated, they developed a relationship that later led to marriage on September 20, 1969 in the St George Temple.
Traveling was an activity that she loved. Her grandparents took her on a special trip where she visited many states. She frequently talked about the memories from that experience. Pam was blessed with many gifts. From decorating her house, to making beautiful flower arrangements that brightened her home. She loved to create things and was an artist in her craft. When her children lived at home, she tried to teach her daughters her magical ways to create delicious food. Love and kindness always was given by her to everyone she met. She truly was a glorious person and a very special wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend.
Pam truly embraced giving service to all. She quit working so she could provide daycare for her grandchildren, which created cherished memories for all. We as her daughters, were blessed for her sacrifice. Pam loved her grandkids. They would do crafts and different activities that sparked the imagination of those children. The grandkids just loved their grandma and the time she spent with them.
She served in many church callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was an active member until she struggled with Alzheimer’s. Pam gave service to all those around her which gave her so much joy.
Towards the end, John was her lifeline. We are so grateful for the care that our father gave our mother in the last year of her life. She is loved.
She leaves a legacy of love with her caring husband John, two daughters Stefanie (Randy) and Camille (Sean). Four grandchildren Tason (Allie), Tayosha (Billie), Traxten (Kesley) and Rayden. Eight great grandchildren. Pam adored her family.
