After a brief and devastating illness, Paul Anton Hegemann left this earth bravely worrying about his beloved family. Paul was with his wife, Shirley, his son, Terry and beloved nephew, Ben Hegemann and niece Crystal Hegemann when he transcended to the other side of the stars!
Paul was born in Howells, Nebraska to Anton Hegemann and Madelyn Pfeifer, later moving to Greeley, Colorado where he grew up.
At the young age of nineteen (19) Paul was drafted in to the U. S. Army, where he proudly served for two years as a radar and computer operator. He was grateful that he was veteran.
Paul married Shirley Buckner on September 1st, 1960 in Raton, New Mexico.
He was a hero to those who knew and loved him. He fought hard to stay on this earth stating: “this has been quite the experience!”
Although these past few months were very difficult for him, it brought a closeness of tenderness and devotion to those who loved and cared for him.
In 1969, with savings of $2000.00, a newborn son, Trace, and two other children, Terry and Kellie, Paul went into business for his self; thus, the launching of Hegemann paint. He later formed a partnership with WM. B. Wheat and created Hegemann and Wheat Painting. After his partner retired, Paul continued the commercial painting business up until the time his son Terry took over and has successfully ran Hegemann Paint Company building the business to what it is today.
Paul loved camping with his wife, children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and his friends. He especially enjoyed staying along the Colorado River in Bullhead City, Arizona and spending winters in Quartzsite, Arizona with cherished friends, he also relished the time spent with the Jafos, a group of friends who have camped together for over fifty years!
Paul, along with his wife and valued friends, Boyd and Midge Vanausdal, motorcycled from Utah, across Canada all the way to New Foundland; an 8500 mile trip.
Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley and their children Terry, Kellie, (Pete) Owens, Trace, Niece, Laura Anderson and Keith Hegemann; his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norman H. Hegemann and wife Merann Hegemann.
