Paul L. Peterson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul L. Peterson, who died unexpectedly at the age of 66 in St. George, Utah, on September 14, 2025.

Paul was born in Coalville, Utah, on June 24, 1959, to Lyle Peterson and Joann Pace. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and was active in all sports. He attended and graduated from South Summit High School, where he was a three-sport athlete.

Following high school, Paul served a successful LDS mission in Leeds, England. He married Kristy Lyn Fifield on April 2, 1981, in the Logan LDS Temple. Paul later earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Utah State University.

Paul was deeply involved in his community, organizing and running numerous intramural leagues. He and Kristy made their home in Marion, Utah, where they raised their four boys. Paul was a passionate advocate for youth athletics, helping to develop, coach, and organize many programs throughout the Kamas Valley.

He lived a life marked by kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his family. Paul was a devoted husband, supportive father, beloved grandfather, and a cherished friend to many.

Throughout his career, Paul worked as a teacher, dairy farmer, and program coordinator. He was known for his friendly personality and generosity. Outside of work, he found joy in golfing, competing in sports with his friends and sons, creative cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren.

His sudden departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Paul will be remembered for his gentle nature, playful teasing, and his treasure trove of gift cards.

He is survived by his wife, Kristy Lyn Peterson; children: Trevor Peterson (Heather), Chantz Peterson (Kristina), Conor Peterson (Krista), and Trenton Peterson (Rachel); and grandchildren: Kohen, Beckett, Reagan, Maddy, Ben, Gwyn, Tennlee, Gannon, Josie, Tucker, and Maggie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Joann Peterson, and his younger brother, Ray L. Peterson.

A celebration of life will be held on September 26th from 5:00–7:00 PM at 2549 W. Sinagua Trail #54, St. George, UT (Entrada), where friends and family will gather to honor Paul’s life and legacy.
