Penelope Streuber of St George, Utah, (formerly from North Edwards, Ca) passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2025 at the age of 89. She was Born April 23, 1936 in Omaha, Nebraska to Marion (Morgan) Strupith and Emerick Charles Strupith. She married John Hans Streuber, on July 14th 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Penelope (also known as Penny for short) spent her childhood years in Omaha, Nebraska and Seattle, Washington. Her family moved to Wilmington, California where she graduated high school. She married her first husband Harold Oliver. They moved to Toledo, OH where she had her firstborn, Nicolette Colleen Oliver. Penelope later moved to Santa Ana, Ca., to be closer to family. She had her second child, Kenneth Conrad Oliver. Years after she divorced Harold Oliver, she married John Hans Streuber in 1962. They had five children together, making a total of seven children that Penelope and John raised in North Edwards, Ca.

Penelope was an avid bowler. She and her team placed in a division of the 1980 CWBA, held in Sacramento, Ca. She and John bowled on several leagues per week, often traveling to Las Vegas for tournaments. She ran a junior bowling league in Cal City, Ca., where several of her children bowled. Penelope coordinated and helped put on the Boron Rock Show, as her and John belonged to the Mojave Mineralogical Society. The family often camped in the desert while Penny and John rock hounded as a pastime hobby. She loved pitching horse shoes, and played on an organized league in Boron, Ca. She worked in the family history library at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she loved doing her family genealogy. Penelope loved to crochet and read novels. Penelope’s life was filled with serving others. She volunteered in her community, serving as a senior Docent at the US Borax visitor center. She helped at the senior citizens community center in Boron, Ca. When her mother fell ill in 1988, she and her sisters cared for her for 11 years in their homes. Later in 2005 her husband John suffered a stroke, rendering him bed bound for four years, she cared for him until he passed in 2009. When she moved to Beehive Home Assisted Living, in St George, Utah, she always greeted anyone who walked in the home with a friendly smile. She was beloved by all who met her, and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Nicolette Kenyon, Michael Streuber, Christine Fouts, Katherine King, and Stephanie Christopherson, her 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Her twin sister, Patricia Harrald and her brother, John Strupith. She was preceeded in death by her husband John Streuber and her sons Kenneth Oliver and Raymond Streuber.

Penelope Streuber will be laid to rest at Bakersfield National Cemetery, located in Arvin, California.
