Randy Joe Brooks

November 14, 1977 — May 18, 2025

Washington, UT

Randy Joe Brooks, a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 18th at the age of 47. He was born on November 14th in Flint, Michigan, to his birth mother, Terry Climer, and was lovingly adopted and raised by Patricia and Val Brooks. Randy’s life was defined by unwavering dedication to his family and an incredible work ethic. His presence, loyalty, and love touched many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy was managing a Michigan Communications Service Center when he applied and was hired by a Communications Contractor to work exclusively for Motorola, Inc. His responsibilities were to manage the transition of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic Public Safety customers during a frequency swap between the FCC and Sprint. This extraordinary project was so successful that Randy was hired by Motorola as a Special Projects Manager. Randy's outstanding customer relationships and creative skill sets became known throughout the United States.

When the FCC frequency swap project ended, Randy was asked by the Motorola West Coast Management Team to transfer to that Division to help them get into large complex competitive accounts. This worked well for Randy because of his dedication in helping his wife's health situation. He loved his family. For the next ten years, Randy’s sales and customer satisfaction record led the nation. Randy had the ability to make loyal customers who became his friends. Motoroleans all over the US wanted Randy on their special project teams because he never saw problems, he only saw opportunities.

Randy was inducted into the Galvin Masters (an elite sales team within Motorola) in 2020. This honor is only issued to the best of the best and is a lifetime honor. Randy accomplished so much in his career with Motorola and he was admired and loved by colleagues and customers alike. One 'ole Motorolean said "to know Randy was to love Randy, quirks and all."

Randy lived a vibrant and passionate life, filled with a love for adventure, family, and fun. He had an uncanny ability to bring humor and conversation into any room, creating memorable moments that often ended in laughter. Whether he was shooting trick shots, sharing his tools, or taking on grandiose and seemingly impossible projects, Randy approached life with boldness and heart. He loved snowboarding, playing roller hockey—especially at the Joe Dumars Fieldhouse in Michigan—and enjoying Korean dishes prepared by his family. He found joy in family Disney trips and traveling, always eager to create lasting memories. Randy was also known for his love of a good debate, even over the most mundane topics. But above all, it was his family that meant the most. Conversations about his children lit up his face with pride and love, and spending time with them was his greatest joy.

Randy was a devoted and hardworking man who dedicated his life to the happiness and well-being of his family. He cherished his wife and three children deeply, and everything he did was with them in mind. His love was shown not just in words, but in the life he built for them—providing homes, cars, memorable vacations, and every opportunity to enjoy the best life had to offer. Randy was the kind of provider every family hopes for, selflessly putting his loved ones first.

Randy is preceded by his parents, Val & Patricia Brooks, and father-in-law, Lee Halligan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nicole, and their three children: Jackson, Carter, and Reagan. He also leaves behind his birth mother, Terry Climer, his sister, Jennifer Halligan, and her husband Matthew; nieces and nephews, Morgan, Joe, and Kayleigh; his father- and mother-in-law, Peter and Patricia Halan; and his brother-in-law, Jeremy Peter Halan.
