Robert Edwin Clements (Bob), age 83, passed away with his loving wife at his side on June 11, 2025, leaving a legacy of patriotism, volunteerism, dedication, love, laughter and rugged cowboy spirit. He was born November 15, 1941, in Denver, CO, to parents Edwin and Esther Clements. His achievements, contributions, and accomplishments go far beyond what’s highlighted below.
Bob’s cowboy interests led him to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO where he pursued rodeo calf roping and graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Nutrition. Shortly thereafter, his patriotic love for the United States inspired him to enlist in the Army as 2 nd Lieutenant where he served in Vietnam in the Medical Service Corps. After Vietnam, Bob was stationed at the Ft. Carson Hospital where he met the love of his life, Pamela Jo Sheker (Pam) and they married in 1967. Bob was discharged from the Army with honors as Captain in 1968. Driven to further his education, he earned a Masters of Science in Hospital Administration from the University of Colorado in Denver in 1970.
The beginning of Bob’s health administration career was in San Luis, CO; he was the Director of the Sangre de Cristo Health Center and proudly appointed to the National Health Council. Bob and Pam were living in Ft. Garland and brought a beautiful baby girl into the world, Diana Lea in 1971. The family moved to Santa Fe, NM where Bob accepted a position as President of Presbyterian Health Services. While in Santa Fe, Bob and Pam had their second bundle of joy, Steven Conrad in 1976. In 1980, the family made their way to Englewood, CO as Bob moved into the position of Vice President of Administration at Rose Medical Center in Denver.
Even though Bob’s career in health administration was flourishing, he longed to embrace his entrepreneurial desire. Pam had been working in Hallmark stores, and the couple teamed up to buy a store of their own: Pam’s Hallmark. Eventually one store turned into two, and two into three; this retail ownership career spanned 17 years. Bob and Pam did an incredible job running the stores and managed every facet of the business; this also created great work opportunities for their kids and many community members.
In 1994, Bob and Pam were empty nesters, they moved to Conifer, CO for 16 years; then to Bailey, CO for a few years; then finally to Central, UT in 2016 to enjoy quieter mountain environments.
While in Conifer, Bob teamed up with Cousin Lyle Breshears to found Triangle Remodel, a residential remodeling business; and started Thread Artists, a home embroidery and garment printing business.
Also while in Conifer, Bob’s service minded drive to assist and contribute to the Veteran community inspired him to join the Bailey Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In 2004 and 2005, he served as the CO State Commander for the VFW, and founded the CO chapter of the VFW Foundation in 2004. Bob was passionate about the organization’s missions to create positive change in the lives of America's veterans. He also became the 89 th member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycling Association.
Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed many recreational pursuits with family and close friends: elk and bighorn sheep hunting in the high CO Rockies, motorboating and vintage boat restoration, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, camping, and hiking. His curiosity didn’t alway lead him outside, he always wanted to learn and was a voracious reader, largely of wartime non-fiction and history.
Bob was a hit at social gatherings with his great jokes and witty conversation; his wisdom, kindness, and sage advice will be greatly missed. He was a remarkable husband, father, family member, and person overall.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pam; and his children, Diana and Conrad. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Edwin and Esther, and brother and sister- in-law, David and Darla.
Fort Logan National Cemetery is Bob’s chosen place of rest, a service with military honors will take place Thursday, June 24th, 10-10:30 a.m., 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made on Bob’s behalf to the CO VFW Foundation, 1400 Carr St, Lakewood, CO, 80214.
