Rose Marie Blake

Rose Marie Hughes Blake, 84, Veyo, Utah, passed away on November 15, 2020 at her home with her daughter, Tammy by her side.

She was born August 10, 1936 to Elmer and Emily Hughes. She grew up in Mesquite, NV with her five brothers and sisters.

Rosie married Lowell C. Blake on February 18, 1955. In 1968, Lowell and Rosie were proud to call Veyo Utah their home. They were blessed to be the parents of two children. Shawn, who passed away when he was only 3 months old, and Tammy Jo, who they dearly loved.

Rosie was a beautiful, and humble pianist. She loved hunting arrowheads, Dutch Oven Cooking over an open fire, deer hunting, eating Arby's Sandwhiches, and spending time with family and friends.

Rosie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She would often be heard talking of her appreciation of the Atonement, and how Jesus Christ not only died for her sins, but for all those people that she knew and loved.

Rosie waited many years to be able to go to the St George Temple. She truly enjoyed her time there. Rosie had a very big heart. Anyone who met her felt of her love. She truly was one of a kind, and will be missed by many.

She is survived by Tammy Jo Blake, Veyo, Utah. Special friend Paul (Red) Hunt, Provo, Utah whom Rosie thought of as a son. Sister, Colleen (Wilbor) Waite, Bakersfield, CA. Sister-in-laws, Merriley (Elvin) Hafen, Santa Clara, Utah. Lissa Blake, Glenwood, Utah and many nieces, nephews, and numerous life long friends. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Shawn. Brothers Archie, Clair, Bill, and her Sister Nellie Barnett, Father-in-Laws Gerrald and Douglas.

The family would like to thank all the healthcare workers and caregivers who have served so hard to take care of our mother, sister, and friend.

Due to COVID-19, private family funeral services will be held as a later date.
