St. George, Utah – Ryan Jentzsch, 56, passed away at home on December 21st, 2022 from the effects of colon cancer. He was born on September 14th, 1966 in Salt Lake City Utah to Michael and Linda (Lindegren) Jentzsch. He was sealed to his sweetheart Wendy in the Salt Lake City temple on May 14th, 1990.
Ryan was one of the kindest, most gentle souls you would ever meet. He always looked for the best in everyone and was the first to lift someone up who was suffering or just needed a friend. He embodied Christ-like values and practiced what he preached. He felt most fulfilled while working his job at the Switchpoint community center, showing care and love to those who are currently suffering from homelessness. Ryan was a self-proclaimed nerd and loved to share his “nerdy” passions with everyone. He loved to play D&D with his friends and family and enjoyed the gaming community. His D&D crew became some of his best friends.
His greatest love and joy in this life was his family. Especially his granddaughter Rosalie. She was his pride and joy and he made sure she was spoiled as much as possible. Ryan was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in New York in his youth. He often recounted funny and faith-building stories from that time in his life. The motto he lived his life by is “treat everyone with kindness and respect and you will always get it back in return”
We are beyond grateful to have had him as a dad and grandfather and know he is happily reunited with his wife and parents.
Ryan is survived by his five children Jennifer (Bryce), Adam (Liz), Stephen, Joshua (Courtney), and Claire (Benjamin) one grandchild Rosalie, brother Troy (Sara), and sister Michelle. He is preceded in death by his wife Wendy and his parents Michael and Linda.
We would like to extend our thanks to IHC home health and hospice for their care and support during this time and would like to say a special thank you to the nurses Kandalee and Kellie for the love and care you showed our dad during this trying time.
Funeral services will be Wednesday December 28th 2022 at 11 AM. Friends may call Wednesday the 28th at 9:30 AM at 2434 East Riverside Drive, St. George Utah 84790. Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary, 1037 East 700 S, St. George, Utah, (435) 674-5000. In lieu of flowers, Ryan has asked that a donation be made to Switchpoint community resource center. Restore Hope – End Suffering – Switchpoint Community Resource Center (switchpointcrc.org)
