Our Mom, Sandra Mohr Elder, peacefully passed away on June 23, 2026 in St. George, Utah, surrounded by people who loved her.
Mom was born to Dr. Alzon J. and Vonzza Bingham (later Peterson) Mohr on April 13, 1946, in Tremonton, Utah. She always loved being “Doc’s” daughter and carried it as a badge of pride during her entire life. But she had a special bond with her own mom, “Grandma Peter," who showered her with the same complete and unconditional love she later showered on her own children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom was one of a kind. She was a talented artist and loved gardening and beautifying her yard and she found peace, joy and love in nature and her beloved Dachshunds. She could be stubborn and frustrating at times, but she was kind, gentle and generous and did not have a mean-spirited bone in her body. She never forgot a birthday and she never failed to insert her signature “xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo” in every card she sent. Her house was always filled with knick-knacks and cluttered with plants, aquariums, dog- toys and pictures of her family on the walls and a snack, soda or a cookie was always at the ready for one of her kids or grandkids. But what it all meant was that we knew we were always welcome in Mom’s house and her love would always be there waiting for us.
We are – and will always be – immeasurably grieved by the void in our lives that now exists because of her loss, but we are also profoundly grateful for the priceless gift and legacy of love she leaves behind. Nobody has ever showed more loyalty or loved their family more completely than mom. And not a day went by in our lives that we didn’t know we were loved completely and unconditionally by Mom.
Mom is survived by her three kids, Sean (Jennifer), Casey (Michael) Nixon and Scot (Michelle), her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sherleen.
We love you, Mom. Always.
