Listen to Obituary

Sharon Lynn Cooke, 75, of St. George, Utah passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on April 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Sharon was born on June 29, 1950, in Pomona, California, to Virgil Joe and Norma Jean (née Porri) Hix. She grew up in Anaheim, California and graduated from Western High School in 1968.

On June 22, 1968, Sharon married the love of her life, Kenneth Cooke. In 1978, they made the bold decision to pack their bags and head to Las Vegas where they set up a warm and welcoming home filled with love. Together they raised their two children and built a beautiful life during their 52 years of marriage.

Sharon loved to entertain family and friends and celebrate ALL the holidays. No holiday—major or minor—escaped her enthusiastic attention. From elaborate Christmas displays to whimsical decorations for St. Patrick's Day, she found magic in every season. Sharon also enjoyed camping with her camping club, playing cards, cruising, and reading.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth, parents Joe and Jean Hix, and granddaughter Riley Michelle Cooke. She is survived by her two brothers, Richard (Laura) Hix and Gerald (Deni) Hix, her son Michael (Kelly) Cooke of Las Vegas, Nevada and her daughter Kimberly (Mike) LaPointe of St. George, Utah. She leaves behind three grandchildren—Jordan (Heather) Miller, Brandon (Mikayla) LaPointe and Stephanie (Dallin) Nelsen and four great-grandchildren: Hayes LaPointe, River Miller, James Nelsen and Cora Jean LaPointe.

As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories she created and the love she shared, knowing that she will forever be with us in spirit.
