Sharon Elaine Bramwell Truman

June 29, 1935 — May 4, 2025

The spirit of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Sharon Elaine Bramwell Truman was plucked from her mortal body while she was bearing a beautiful testimony of her love for her family and friends, music, Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ at fast and testimony meeting for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Washington, Utah on May 4. 2025.

She was born June 29, 1935 to Leona McBride and Harold Bramwell in Ogden, Utah. She married Ronald Truce Truman on September 3, 1961 at the court house in Las Vegas, Nevada, and later sealed for time and eternity May 14, 1964. Together, they had six children; Troy Truce Truman (Faleen Emett); Howard Todd Truman (Leslie Hall); Misti Truman Cain (Larry Cain); Travis Leavitt Truman (Tammy Murdock); Mignon Truman; Monette Truman LePendu (Alan Berg); 16 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren with three on the way, and one deceased, Marshall Reber. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Truce Truman on October 20, 1994.

Together they raised their family in Ogden and Enterprise, Utah. Many years were spent hauling hay, milking cows and honing horse and orchard property. Summers were spent picking and selling raspberries, canning and making fruit leather, irrigating and swimming in the canal that ran along the back of their property, trampolines, riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. Winters consisted of snowmobiling, skiing and throwing snowballs. We were reared with white gloved duties, but freedom for creative and imaginative playtime.

Mom spent her life radiating her love of our Savior by sharing her light and testimony through music, and her genuine interest in all people both known and unknown. People flocked to her because of her sparkling disposition and gentle personality. She was best known by her children/grandchildren as “Tickle Gramma” with her heavenly touch and long fingernails she tenderly used up and down many arms during snuggles or at bedtime.

She touched all whom she came in contact with, which was evident until she departed this earth. Her last days were spent serving at the Saint George temple as an organist and member of the Heritage Choir for the past 18 years. She was most happy when she was participating in music, and in her dying breath she exuberantly invited all who have never heard the Heritage Choir sing to come and hear them sing.

Mom was born into musical heritage and has passed it down through her posterity. During her years as a student at Brigham Young University, she performed in trios, quartets, Esquire 5 and BYU Singers. Mom played the piano by ear and had to learn how to read music while playing for elementary schools, orchestras, string ensembles, choirs, road show and soloists. Her church service included many years of music contributions for all organizations, including making the most elaborate music posters for the children to learn primary songs.

Mom served as a missionary in the Ogden cannery for over ten years where she learned many jokes she couldn’t wait to share with her children and grandchildren. It was there she met and married fellow missionary, Gary Dennis Davis, who preceded her in death. She was spiritually elevated with Gary and her testimony grew as they enjoyed almost five years of marriage traveling to many temples and serving together as Ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS temple.

Her greatest joy was motherhood and child-rearing, she was eternally grateful for her posterity. She leaves a very large impact of herself on each of us. We will feel her loving embrace while we mourn her loss and celebrate her reunion with our father, and many other loved ones who have gone before her. She left a beautiful example and legacy to always remember.
