86 Years Old

Sherron returned home with honor on December 1, 2025, surrounded by family on both sides of the veil. Born August 18, 1939, in Salt Lake City, she was the oldest child of seven children of Frederick William Todd and Veryle Ruth Tietjen Todd. She was raised in Taylorsville, Utah and graduated from Granite High School in 1957. She married William “Bill” Palmer on August 5, 1957, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Sherron and Bill had five children: Suzanne, James “Jamie” and Janet (twins), David and Angelique. Jamie returned home to his Heavenly Father after only three brief months with his new family.

Sherron and Bill divorced in 1980. Mom married “F-Mazel” Callister twice, unfortunately, in 1982 and 1986. They were married for 12 difficult years until 1998 when Mom decided she had had enough of his shit. We were all very grateful and very relieved, to say the very least.

Mom began her work career as a child, sweeping floors at her dad’s welding business, Twamco Trailers. She also worked in a variety of secretarial positions over her years, but she was most proud of her time at Gull Laboratories.

Mom had a passion for music and singing, but she was shy about sharing her talent. She enjoyed camping with her family and making the holidays special. Each Christmas, the family was bestowed with the wonderful tastes of white fruitcake, cutout cookies with her special frosting, hand dipped chocolates and sometimes a rare occurrence of divinity would happen. One of her many talents was decorating wedding cakes. Over the years, she made numerous cakes for family and friends. They were extraordinary indeed. When camping, big batches of cookies would be made, and the leftovers would be stored in the freezer. She never knew, but us kids snuck and ate many frozen cookies over our childhood.

She relocated to St George in 1981. Mom LOVED the southern Utah desert. She loved rockhounding and disappearing for periods of time to unwind and relax in her red desert. She was passionate about the St George area and it was a lifeline for her after her first divorce. She would 4X4 in the desert in her Chevy Chevette, which was not a 4X4. Good times! That Chevybeast went everywhere. She would take night drives with Angelique, the windows down and Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Billy Idol and others booming. She loved taking day drives through the desert with David and Angelique, with music from Styx, Blue Oyster Cult, and Pink Floyd on high volume.

Mom inherited the talents of painting from her Mom and Dad. She enjoyed oils, and painted very beautiful scenes and sold many of them. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and sewing clothes for her children, including underwear. She was also a fan of Artex paints.

In her later years, she enjoyed spending time playing the MMORPG Everquest II with David and Angelique and a few grandkids. Her favorite characters were Kjerstina, a dark elf and Uribidies, a wood elf.

Sherron was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints her entire life. She served in various positions, including Young Women’s, which she loved dearly and they loved her.

A huge passion in life was cats. Her heart was instantly stolen by any cat that came her way. Her kids made sure she did not become a cat hoarder, however, she did earn the nickname “Grandma Cat.”

Sherron’s laughter, smile, and beautiful blue eyes will be so missed for the rest of this earthly existence.

Sherron was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Veryle, her son Jamie, her brother Chuck and brother-in-law Joe Nelson, and son-in-law Kelly Sondrup (Suzanne). She is survived by her siblings Ruth Nelson, Allen Todd, Kolleen Bingham, Martie Smith, and Kathy Webster, daughters Suzanne, Janet, and Angelique (Michael), and son David (Stephenie). She is survived by 20 grandkids, 33 (soon to be 35) great grandkids, and 1 greatgreat grandkid.

The family would like to thank Mission Hospice, and many thanks to the following people for taking such great care of our Mom: Bri, Ashley, Trissy, Amy, Ellie, Hadley, Shelby, Cassidy, Jamie, Hoagan and Karl! Our family is so grateful for the excellent care of our mother, and in the last hours of her life, especially Trissy. You were a calming spirit when we needed one the most. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💖💖.

And to you, Suzanne, our dear sister, our hearts are eternally grateful to you for taking care of mom and keeping her in her home, especially through one of the most difficult times in your life. Your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed. We thank you!
