It was love at first sight when she met her eternal companion Vaiaoga Salatielu Tiatia marching through her village playing the tuba with his Avao Marching Band in 1953.  They married shortly thereafter, started their family in Saipipi and Avao, Savaii Samoa and later migrated their family to Hawaii,USA in 1980 after converting to the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, then solemnized their marriage and were sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Laie Hawaii Temple on June 25, 1981.

Soonafaifualouola was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone around her. Her life was centered around her family. She was a woman of great faith, love, determination and hard-work and embedded those qualities in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her example molded her family and loved ones to become strong in every aspect of life. She, taught her posterity to always keep God and family first, as she served faithfully and willingly in the many, many callings she held within the church. She exemplified “Charity Never Faileth” and loved to serve those around her. Soonafaifualouola will be deeply missed but never forgotten as she has left a beautiful legacy that will live on forever.
