Suzanne Taylor Leavitt Sanders, of Hurricane Utah, peacefully passed away at the St. George Regional Hospital at 1:27 AM on May 18, 2026 at the age of 82.
Suzanne was born on April 26, 1944 in Provo Utah to Leo Von and Ronella Taylor. She spent her childhood in the Provo area and later moved to Henderson Nevada. She graduated from Basic High School in Henderson and married her beloved Karl Evan Leavitt one day after graduation from High school at age 18 on June 2, 1962 in the St.George Temple.
Suzanne will be remembered for the joy she had in her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was especially passionate about her children and her dear husband Karl who passed away 25 years ago. They had many adventures in Nevada, Oregon, California, Idaho, and Arizona, before ending up in Hurricane. After Karl passed away on April 26, 2001, Suzanne married Mac Sanders, a longtime resident of Hurricane, on October 30, 2010. They spent 5 happy years together before he passed away.
Suzanne is survived by her seven children, Paul Karl Leavitt, Deanna Lynn Peabody, Glenn Todd Leavitt, Jennifer Ann Leavitt, Jason Boyd Leavitt, Trisha Ann Baird, and Jamie Lynn Wood, and 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on June 4, 2026 at 12 noon at the Chloride, Arizona Cemetery for close family and friends. There will also be a Celebration of Life service on June 5, 2026 at 4 PM at the Hurricane Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building at 155 East 1050 North. Dinner will be served for the family at 6 PM.
