Timothy Lawrence Thompson was born Nov. 25, 1950 in Bozeman, Montana, to Keith Orvis and Frances Chisholm Thompson. He passed away August 11, 2025, due to complications of Parkinson’s disease.
Tim was born and raised in Montana where he raised hell whenever he could. He lived on his parents’ small farm right next to his grandpa’s farm in Jefferson County, Montana. He was very close to his grandpa and had many happy memories of time spent with him. He went to school in many places in Montana and hated every minute of it. He eventually dropped out of high school in Havre, MT, and went to work on the oil rigs in eastern Montana. Shortly after turning 18, he received his draft notice from Uncle Sam and served a full tour of duty including 14 months and 5 days in Vietnam. It was here he was exposed to Agent Orange which resulted in his Parkinson’s disease. Even so, he never regretted serving his country. Tim later moved to Las Vegas and worked in a lumber yard, working his way up to yard foreman. Tim and Lea met in Las Vegas when two friends they had in common both tried to set them up the same week. They were married Sept 17, 1983 in St. George, Utah. Lea left Tim unsupervised one weekend and he bought a pecan farm in southern Utah. Here they raised their children and spent time fishing all the area lakes. Tim loved farming, telling stories to customers, and being in charge whenever he could. His love of ice cream, Coke, and chocolate chip cookies was legendary.
He is survived by his 17-year-old cat, Thomas; his wife, Lea; and children Laura Thompson, St George; Leslie (Gregg) McArthur; Tamsy Thompson, of Washington; Ted (Liz Gore) Thompson; Andy (Leah) of Seattle; and Dan (Lina Ghabayen) Thompson of Philadelphia. Also, Leia and Steve Hood of Las Vegas. Grandchildren Jack, Todd, Savannah, Cora, Hendrick and Marilyn.
