Walter Lee Bailey ended his mortal journey on July 23, 2026 at age 92. Born on August 3, 1933 to Ira Bailey and Almira Dellana Jack. He married Jean Sue Bailey on February 14, 1959 and they were later sealed for time and eternity in the Los Angeles temple on January 16, 1960. Walter was a devoted husband and father.
He spent his working years as a heavy duty diesel mechanic. He worked for John Deere as well for Caterpillar at Tenco where he retired. Walt loved serving in the church where he was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had many church callings but he loved his time working with the scouts. Walt loved the outdoors and the times he spent camping and hunting with family.
Walt is preceded in death by his wife Sue, his parents Ira Bailey and Almira Dellana Jack. Also his Brothers Robert Orlin Bailey Sr. (Anita) and Ira Dale Bailey (Sherra) and his sister Leona Cunningham (Denny).
He is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Boden (Jack) Roseville, CA and Edna Stowel Lewiston, MT. His three children Steven Bailey (Arin) Antelope, CA, Nanette Bailey Elk Grove, CA and Mark Bailey (Nancy) St George, UT. Six grandchildren Joshua, Michael, (Gypsy) Shannon, Justin, Cody, and Lindsey, (Jesus). He also had 2 great grandchildren Riley and Aisling
Walt will be missed by anyone who knew him
A viewing will begin at 9:30 am on Friday August 7, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; 1184 North Dixie Downs Road. A celebration of Walter’s life will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery; St. George, UT.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Advance Hospice for their care of Walt in his final days. Also eternal thanks to Terry and Carolyn for their friendship and care over the last 9 1/2 years. You are family to us and forever in our hearts.
