Wayne was the beloved son of Patrice Vaughn and the late Wayne Vaughn Jr., and brother to Wendy Vaughn, Heather Barton, Jason Vaughn, and Hilleri Vaughn-Hardy. He was predeceased by his father Wayne Vaughn Jr. and sister, Heidi Vaughn. Wayne's legacy lives on through his cherished sons, Keith McRae and Nik Mihalopoulos, as well as his mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, a great-niece, a great-nephew, Aunts, Uncles, and countless beloved cousins and friends.

Professionally, Wayne was a dedicated general contractor and land developer, roles that exemplified his commitment to building and creating lasting structures and relationships. His work was not only a career but also a testament to his ability to transform visions into reality.

Wayne's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. A keen collector of historical coins, guns, and movies, he found joy in the stories and history they held. His love for boating and golfing, especially with his father, was well-known, and he often reflected on these moments with fondness. In his younger years, Wayne enjoyed the freedom and thrill of roller skating and riding motorcycles. He also took immense pride in promoting music with local bands in Bakersfield, fostering community and creativity.

Wayne was a man of great humor and wit, known for his benevolent nature and his enormous, caring heart. His kindness and gentlemanly demeanor were evident to everyone he met. Conversations with Wayne were always engaging, whether about his hobbies, the day’s sports, or politics. His sons, in particular, are grateful for the values he instilled in them—confidence, wisdom in both mind and hands, grace, forgiveness, and integrity, even in challenging times.

A service to honor Wayne's life will be held on September 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery, located at 1777 S Dixie Dr, St George, UT. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared kind words or donations to help lay Wayne to rest peacefully. His easy-going nature and calming disposition will be deeply missed, and his memory cherished by all who knew him.
