Zoe Kathryn Monson started her Heavenly mission early. She was thrilled to be turning eighteen this month so she could go to the St George temple and receive her Endowments; prior to putting in her missionary papers in the spring of 2025. She is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; and had finished the Missionary Preparation classes, as well as just days before, finishing the Temple Preparation Classes.
We couldn’t wait for her arrival. Zoe was born in Sandy, Utah on August 29, 2006 to Andrew Mitchell Monson and Dawnalyn (Fenn) Monson, and her older sister - by just 13 months - Linda (Kain). As a small child she was curious and happy, always with a ready smile. She loved befriending all whom she met. She had a sweet contagious smile and laugh. She loved reading, music and movies.
Zoe, like her mother, loves Germany. She took 3 years of German at Snow Canyon High School from Herr Goff. She was so thrilled to finally go to Germany at Christmas time for her early Graduation/Senior trip. She loved to travel and was able to go to Korea with her family, as well as visiting Amsterdam, France, several Church History sights, and Niagara Falls.
Zoe loved serving as her Young Women’s class president and serving all the Young Women of the Snow Canyon 13th Ward. She loved volunteering. She was proud to be a member of the Washington County Youth Coalition and Latinos in Action. She loved to help and serve in the baptistry of the St George Temple. Often times she would go 2 days a week; not as a calling, but just because she loved the people, and loved being in the temple. She told her family she was, “so excited to graduate from the baptistry, and be able to go to the upper floors”. She was hoping to be called as an official ordinance worker in September, to serve with her father, grandparents, and all her sweet new friends in the baptistry.
Loved by all who knew her, Zoe is preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents Arthur Brown and Mary (Roberts) Fenn, Lawrence and Freda (Sharp) Jones, maternal grandparents, Arthur Lyman. and Linda (Jones) Fenn, Aunt Sonya Fenn, Uncle Stewart Fenn, Cousin Quincy Fenn, paternal great-grandparents Warren S. and Wanda (Vorwaller) Monson and Elizabeth “Bette – Nana Loo” (Reiser) and Mitchell W. Hunt, Jr.
She is survived by her parents Dawnalyn and Andrew, and her 5 siblings Linda (Kain), Kylee (Tav), Mikayla (Remi), Allison, Ammon, paternal grandparents W. Edward Monson of Hurricane, Rebecca and Rodney Savage of Bloomington, as well as many fun loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to thank the caring staff of Hughes Mortuary, the kindness and outpouring of love from the members of the Snow Canyon 13th Ward, and the Utah State Medical Examiner for determining the cause of death as natural causes.
Services will be held at 1610 North Dixie Downs Road St George, UT 84770. Viewing from 11-12:15. Service starts at 12:30.
