Delwin Leroy Wilson, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was received into heaven June 09, 2020 by his daughter, Lynnette Beck; his son, Kyle Wilson; parents, Ellis and Erma Wilson; his in-laws, Roosevelt and Cleo Gubler; his brothers, George and Edwin Wilson; and many others who love him.
Delwin was born to Ellis Leroy Wilson and Erma Louisa Nelson July 26, 1944 in Panquitch, Utah. He is the fifth child and third son of 13 children. In 1964, Delwin served a two-year mission to Louisville, Kentucky. Following his mission, Delwin married Linda Gubler on July 22nd, 1966. They enjoyed a special relationship. Delwin invited Linda to sit next to him in the car on their first date, and that is where she sat until bucket seats divided them decades later. They were never far apart, though. Delwin and Linda loved to travel the world. Linda reported they traveled to every major country except India and Vietnam.
Delwin was employed in upholstery for more than 50 years, owned his own upholstery business for 25 years, and worked for the church as building maintenance for 30 years. Delwin had many talents. He was an accomplished woodworker, artist, cookie maker, electrician, mechanic, and poet. Although, he enjoyed his talents, it gave him the most joy when he used his talents to serve and uplift his family. Anyone privileged to be the recipient of any of his talents can testify that he put forth 100% in all he did. This included his time and dedication toward his family, and especially Linda. Delwin was happiest in the midst of his family with Linda by his side, no matter the occasion. He was always ready to serve when he knew there was a need. He was a great spiritual influence to his wife and family. He taught patience, forgiveness, and faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. He wrote in his insight book, “I do not need to know the will of the Lord, I just need to trust Him.”
Delwin passed away with Linda, his children, and their spouses surrounding him in his home.
He will be missed by his treasured wife, Linda Gubler Wilson, his children and their spouses, Brent (Brenda) Wilson, Angie (Tim) McArthur, Dawna (Kyle) White, Loye (Ryan) Nelson, Deron (Jackie) Wilson, and Murrey (Tisha) Wilson, his 24 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. His siblings John (Gena) Wilson, Anita Hallock, Nadine Lister, Charlene Brookey, Duane (June) Wilson, Clifton (Chrisine) Wilson, Susan (Mel) Lloyd, Randy (Danni) Wilson, Judy (Kevin) Wilson.
